International Volunteer Day – Friday 5 December To find out how you can be involved visit www.volunteeringaustralia.org/ivd International Volunteer Day (IVD) will be celebrated around the world on December 5th and aims to recognise the contribution volunteers make in their communities. IVD was first held in 1985 after the United Nations General Assembly declared that the day should celebrate volunteering. Volunteering Australia co-ordinates the day in Australia and provides resources to help volunteer organisations celebrate volunteering.
